# ***New Operational view***

## Objectives

Provide the Property Manager with the ability to create blockout dates, where they can assign resources to so they cannot be booked out by Users

## Key features

The feature includes:

- Function to create blockout dates from 1 hour to multiple days
- Create multiple blockout dates
- Label Blockout dates
- Assign resources to the blockout dates
- Edit blockout dates
- Delete blockout dates

## How to use the new feature

To access the new feature the Property Manager must be in the Bookings application, under the Settings option there will be a Blockout dates section

You will notice that the Settings panel now has a Blockout dates tab

This will direct you to the Blockout dates section where you can create, edit and delete blockout dates

To create a new blockout date select the "+ New Blockout Date" button and you will be directed the modal where you can create a new blockout date

Here you can create a blockout date by providing the following information:

- Blockout date name
- Start date
- End date
- Start time (if desired)
- End time (if desired)
- Resource or resources you wish to assign to the blockout date

Where you do not elect to enter a Start and End time, the Start time will be 00:00 for the Start date and the End time will be 11:59pm for the End date

**Note: **Where you create a blockout date and wish to assign a resource that has a booking against it for that time you will receive an error message advising you which resource has an active booking and you will not be able to save the blockout date for that resource

All blockout dates will be listed in chronological order

To edit or delete an existing blockout date simply select the desired option on the right hand side of the blockout date, and where you wish to edit, all fields are editable

Neither a User or a Property Manager will be able to book a resource during a blockout period. The blockout period will also be identified in the resource calendar that it is unavailable as per the example below for June 12

## Summary

- Property Manager can now blockout one or many resources without having to manually book each resource
- Can create, edit and delete blockout dates
- No person can book a resource over a blockout date
